It is hard to believe that Advent is under a month away. Last year my family gave me a little Advent devotional for Christmas entitled God Is in the Manger. I picked it up a little early and was so captivated by it that I thought it might be a nice idea to encourage those of you who would like, to join me in reading this little book and its daily devotionals throughout the four weeks of Advent.

I am also considering using the four weekly themes presented in God Is in the Manger as worship focuses for the four weeks of Advent this year:

• Week 1 - Waiting
• Week 2 - Mystery
• Week 3 - Redemption
• Week 4 - Incarnation
